Hunting Information
During the course of your safari, you will be personally guided by a professional hunter with a vast knowledge having grown up and lived in the area their whole lives. You will be transported during your hunt with a fully equipped 4 x 4 vehicle appropriate for the rugged terrain. Your hunt will be streamlined into a smooth operation to ensure your greatest satisfaction.
Our hunting season primarily ranges for March to August this however does not restrict hunting during the rest of the year. The climate in the Eastern Cape is arguably the best in Africa. No special inoculations are necessary. Our winter months are cold but not extreme and last from May to August.
We recommend warm waterproof clothing if you are hunting between April and September – preferably khaki and camouflage clothing and good comfortable boots are essential. A first aid box is on hand although you will never be far from qualified medical assistance.
Rifles of 243 to 300 calibre and recommended for hunting plains game in our area, rifles and ammunition are available for hire if required.

A comprehensive, all-inclusive quote and remuneration agreement will be provided once the target species and the duration of your stay have been confirmed and agreed upon.

Trophies, Packing and Despatch
We take the utmost care in preparing your trophies. All caping is carried out by fully trained and experienced skinners. Belvedere Safaris will arrange for your trophies to be shipped at a competitive rate to your preferred taxidermist in South Africa. We also work closely with a reputable, professional taxidermist whose price list and website are available upon request.
Please note that the cost of packing and shipping trophies is not included in the daily rate. We will handle all necessary permits and documentation required for the legal export of your trophies.
Once delivered to the taxidermist, you have two options:
Dip, pack and shipped to your taxidermist
Full taxidermy services
with mounting completed to your specifications in collaboration with our recommended taxidermist and shipped directly to your home.

Getting to Belvedere Safaris
Your journey to Belvedere Safaris begins with an international flight into Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa. From there, you will take a short connecting flight to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your professional hunter or host, who will accompany you on the scenic drive to our lodge. From start to finish, we ensure your travel experience is smooth, welcoming, and stress-free.
