What began as a simple school holiday in 2008 has now evolved into a cherished, multigenerational family tradition—an essential part of our yearly planning, shaping not just our vacations, but also the fabric of our family’s shared experiences and unforgettable memories.
Our journey with Belvedere Safaris began in 2008, when my father and I participated in a five-day father-and-son hunting course. Little did we know that this experience would profoundly change our lives. The memories we created during that first visit became the cornerstone of an annual tradition. What started as a two-person adventure has since grown into a full-family affair, with each passing year adding layers of meaning and joy to our lives.
After I matriculated, I went on to complete my Advanced Field Ranger course in Limpopo, gaining firsthand experience working on renowned reserves in the area. I had the privilege of personally guiding foreign clients on their hunting safaris in South Africa, which gave me a deep appreciation for the high standards required to deliver a world-class hunting experience. Knowing what it takes to create such an experience, I can confidently say that BJ, Melanie, and their dedicated team at Belvedere Safaris go above and beyond to offer exactly that.
Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the expertly catered meals to the large, welcoming fires, the thrilling game drives, and even the rare opportunity to join in on a game capture, if the timing is right.

Over the years, we’ve hunted at various game farms and with different outfitters throughout South Africa, yet we always find ourselves returning to Belvedere. There’s simply something magical about it—something that keeps drawing us back, year after year.
For us, Belvedere is more than just a hunting destination; it’s a place where memories are made, bonds are strengthened, and traditions are born. It’s become a part of who we are as a family.
